| Abstract: Two coordination polymer, {[Mn(Hbidc)(2,2'-bpy)(H2O)2]·1.5H2O}n (1) and {[Cd(Hbidc)(phen)] [Cd(phen)2 Cl2]}n (2) (H3bidc=benzimidazole-5,6-dicarboxylic acid, 2,2'-bpy=2,2'-bipyridine and phen=1,10-phenanthroline) have been synthesized under hydrothermal method. They were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Complex 1 exhibits one-dimensional infinite zig-zag chain, which is extended into a three dimensional supramole-cular network via O-H…O and N-H…O hydrogen bonding interactions. Complex 2 also possesses one dimen-sional chain structure. In addition, the UV-Vis absorption spectra of 1 and 2 were measured at room temperature and the solid fluorescent property of 2 was studied at room temperature. |
