Abstract: The variable C-C bond of o-carborane cage was treated as a vibrational factor. A temptation to synthesize AIE-active o-carborane luminophores were carried out via coupling o-carborane with conventional luminophores who suffered from ACQ (aggregation-caused quenching) effect. Meanwhile, the photophysical properties were investigated by UV-Vis spectra, DFT calculations, PL spectra and crystal structure analysis. The results indicate that different substituents (H, ethyl and phenyl) in o-carboranes could remarkably affect its vibration performance. Ultimately, photophysical properties can be tuned from ACQ to AIE. |
