Abstract: High-purity hydroxyapatite (HAP) was prepared from oyster-shell waste by a hydrothermal method and was used as the carrier for Ag3PO4, resulting in the preparation of a nanorod-like Ag3PO4/HAP composite photocatalyst. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to characterize the prepared photocatalyst and to explore the effect of different preparation parameters on the catalytic activity of the photocatalyst toward the degradation of a methylene blue solution. The results shows that the 1:2-Ag3PO4/HAP catalyst exhibited the best performance, achieving 50% degradation in 10 min and complete degradation in 40 min. The 1:2-Ag3PO4/HAP catalyst was a highly efficient composite photocatalyst. |
