Abstract: PbSe nanoparticles with dendrites have been prepared by sonoelectrochemical method from an aqueous solution containing Pb(Ac)2 and Na2SeSO3 in the presence of Trisodium Citrate (TSC). The nanoparticles were character-ized by using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). XRD patterns show the presence of diffraction peaks corresponding to the (111), (200),(220), (311), (222) planes of cubic PbSe. The TEM image shows dendrits PbSe in the presence of TSC, while in the presence of Potassium Nitrilotriacetate(NTA) the TEM image shows monodisperse spherical nanoparticles with an average size of 20nm. The effects of electrolysis and complexing agents on particle size and shape were also discussed.
