Abstract: The compound 3-(2-pyridyl)-4-( p-methoxyphenyl)-5-(2-thienyl)-1,2,4-triazole(L) was synthesized and characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS, elemental analysis, UV and photoluminescence spectra. The complex [CdLI2]2 was prepared by the reaction of the compound(L) with CdI2, and its structure was characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction structure analysis, IR, UV and elemental analysis. The complex crystallizes in monoclinic system with space group P21/c, a=1.147 4(9) nm, b=0.853 2(7) nm, c=2.194 6(18) nm, β=102.33(10)°, Mr=1 401.18, V=2.098 9 nm3, Z=2, Dc=2.217 g·cm-3, F(000)=1 312, R1=0.041 1, wR2=0.128 9. The crystal structure shows that the cadmium ion is coordinated with three iodine ions and two nitrogen atoms, forming a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The complex has a centrosymmetric dimer structure mode with a four-membered centralendo-cyclic Cd2I2 unit. The antibacterial activity was studied by using the filter scraps diffusion method, and the results indicated the ligand and its complex had bacteriostatic activity against E. Coli, P. Aeruginosa and S. Aureus. CCDC: 732286. |
