Abstract: A novel cobalt(Ⅱ) coordination polymer {Co(phen)(H2O)[C8H14(COO)2]}n·(CH3OH)n has been hydrother-mally synthesized by the reaction of (1S,3R)-1,2,2-trimethyl-1,3-cyclopentanedicarboxylic acid [(1S,3R)-camphoric acid, C8H14(COOH)2], 1,10-phenanthroline(phen) and hydrous cobalt sulfate in the solvent mixture of water and methanol. Crystal data for this complex: monoclinic, space group P21/n, a=1.230 33(11) nm, b=1.363 18(12) nm, c=1.388 91(12) nm, β=106.570 0(10)°, V=2.232 7(3) nm3, Dc=1.450 g·cm-3, Z=4, F(000)=1 020, final GooF=1.057, R1=0.049 0, wR2=0.142 9. The cobalt(Ⅱ) ion is six-coordinated with two nitrogen atoms of one 1,10-phenanthroline molecule, three oxygen atoms from two camphoric acids and one water oxygen atom, forming a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Adjacent cobalt(Ⅱ) ions are bridged by (1S,3R)-camphoric acid groups, resulting in a 1D chain structure. CCDC: 727758. |
