Abstract: A new 1D chain coordination polymer [Pb(η2-FcL)2(phen)]n is obtained by slow evaporation of the solution, and characterized by the elemental analyses, 1H NMR, IR and thermogravimetric analysis. The crystal structure has been analyzed by X-ray diffraction. The title complex belongs to triclinic system with space group P1. Each Pb(Ⅱ) ion is coordinated by O atoms from carboxylic of p-ferrocenylbenzoate in μ3-bridge mode and the N atoms from phenanthroline in chelated mode. The Pb(Ⅱ) ions are connected by bridging O atoms leading to the infinite 1D chain. In addition, the π-π stacking interaction between the phenanthroline molecules can increase the stability of the complex. The thermogravimetry analysis indicates that the this complex is stable before 255.9 ℃. CCDC: 724913.
