Abstract: FTIR and NMR results show that a majority of the solid product prepared from the reaction of Ti(OC4H9)4 and excessive (CH3CO)2O is titanyl acetoxyl [TiO(OOCCH3)2]. The particle size, shape and forming process of the crystal were studied with XRD and TEM. The specific area data of a rutile TiO2 sample and the powders obtained after calcination at different temperatures have been measured with BET method.
