Abstract: The crystallite and thin film of (Zn,Hg)S at different solvents were prepared by thermolysis of thiocyanoto complexes. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results of these studies show that the properties of solvents are im-portant in controlling the sizes and shapes of the final products.
